Lake Champlain

Winter in the Lake Champlain Region is perhaps the most serene in the entire Adirondacks (the rest of the park will have to forgive us). The days shrink, but the views certainly don’t. Winter weather brings legendary vistas and holiday festivals bring entertaining experiences and sweet treats. As the snow piles up, we’re ready to jump into the fun in a place where open spaces meet legendary places.

Pointe Au Roche State Park

Point Au Roche State Park, on the northwestern shore of Lake Champlain, is a mixture of open and forested areas, most of them natural and undeveloped. The park’s large day-use area has a protected, sandy beach and picnic facilities. Boating and fishing are popular activities, as are volleyball, softball and other games. The park offers 60 designated mooring sites in Deep Bay.

Plattsburgh Boat Basin

Plattsburgh Boat Basin is a full service Marina on Lake Champlain. We have docking for all boat sizes and plenty of moorings for your sailboat needs.

Historic Plattsburgh & Battle of 1812 re-enactment

Britain’s army of eleven thousand crossed the border from Montreal into New York and the British Navy’s fleet moved south on Lake Champlain, both headed for Plattsburgh. The battles at Plattsburgh ended the War of 1812. Our mission is to share the details of these engagements, the War of 1812 in general, and Plattsburgh’s importance in the three-year conflict.
